Are pilots used on direct ignition systems?

Direct ignition systems do not use pilots because they rely on an electronic ignition mechanism to ignite the gas-air mixture directly. In a direct ignition system, the ignition occurs instantly via a spark or electrical arc generated by the ignition module. This design eliminates the need for a standing pilot flame, which is common in older ignition systems, making them more efficient and safer since there is a reduced risk of unintended ignition from the pilot flame.
